Rosslyn Chapel is one of the most famous religious sites of Scotland, made even more famous in the past few years due to the Da Vinci Code novel by Dan Brown and the movie with Tom Hanks.

Rosslyn Chapel was founded on a small hill above Roslin Glen as a Catholic collegiate church in the mid-15th century. The chapel was founded by William Sinclair, 1st Earl of Caithness of the Scoto-Norman Sinclair family. Rosslyn Chapel is the third Sinclair place of worship at Roslin, the first being in Roslin Castle and the second in what is now Roslin Cemetery.

Rosslyn chapel is actually quite modest in size, but so full of finely detailed stonework that you can easily spend an hour just enjoying the tour and admiring the intricate stonework. 

Rosslyn Chapel is an architectural wonder: although it was never completely finished, it has impressive features such as a sculptured ceiling of stars, roses and a dove with an olive branch.

There will be plenty of time and opportunities for photos on the way and during the driving tour so come prepared to have a gtreat time.
